Tuckerman Pale Ale

Tuckerman Brewing Co.   Conway, NH

Notes:
American Pale Ale
12oz Bottle
5.5% ABV

Appearance:  Pours a golden, caramel straw color…fairly transparent, I can see tons bubbles, this is a very lively brew…head is just off white and settles to a nice, thin layer…though i have to say, the carbonation is gone after about 30 minutes...(3.5/5)

Smell:  An earthy yeast and citrus hops up front…I’m getting some orange, lemon and grassiness bitterness…it’s got a noticeable yeast which isn’t surprising seeing how carbonated it poured out of the bottle…tons of earthy tones, a very mute sorta smelling brew...there’s also the expected “pale” malt smell…moderate aroma here though…(3/5)

Taste:  Grassy and yeasty right off the bat…it’s got a grassy bitterness that comes and lingers throughout…it’s not overly diverse in flavor, a fairly straightforward pale ale with a yeast influence…somewhat grainy as well…there’s not any real sign of citrus that I picked up in the nose…”earthy, pale and grassy” basically sum this one up…lacks depth...(3.25/5)

Mouthfeel:  Light with tons of carbonation…this brew fluffs up bringing a cloud of grassy, earthy bitterness to the palate…very light, refreshing and crisp…grassy bitterness lingers well into the after taste…(3.75/5)

Overall:  This is an interesting brew…the flavor is good and very drinkable, with a light, refreshing quality that suggests I could drink several of these during a nice summer’s day and remain competent…something just right for a round of disc golf...this would also be a great brew for folks who aren't typical "hop heads" because there isn't any of that citrus or piney bite...it’s a nice pale ale, perfect for a outdoor summer engagement...it just needs a bit more "oomph" …(3/5)

Score:
(3.31/5)
