Three Floyds Brewing Co. Munster, IN
Notes:
American Pale Ale
12oz Bottle
6.4% ABV
Appearance:
Pours a golden orange…luscious, thick head….fairly transparent, I can see
some bubble action in the middle…(4.5/5)
Smell: Citra
hops dominant…sweet smells of orange and grapefruit...heavy pineapple, sweet luscious pineapple…it’s alive and crisp and
mouthwatering…pale and sweet malts help shape and round out the aroma, but this
is sweet orange citrus through and through…(5/5)
Taste: Citrus
(orange, lemon and grapefruit tasting) hops blending sweetly with pale malts
from beginning to end…pineapple...for as citrusy as it is, the pale malts do a great job of
balancing everything out…there is a degree of bitterness and floral hops lingering
in the background…some floral after taste…(5/5)
Mouthfeel:
Light, sweet and crisp…medium carbonation that fluffs a bit…mouthwatering…(4.5/5)
Overall: A
fantastic ale…I hate hearing about how good a beer is before I try it, as the
case here, but this brew lives up to the hype…the potent citrus flavor is
balanced superbly by pale malts that could exist on their own and create a
fantastic taste…it’s vibrant and light making it ultra drinkable…I could easily
kill a sixer while playing poker or hanging out with friends…highly
recommended, this will be an ale you’ll remember…(5/5)
Score:
(4.83/5)
