Southern Tier Double Milk Stout

Southern Tier Brewing Co.  Lakewood, NY

Notes:
Milk Stout
22oz Bottle
7.5% ABV

Appearance:  Poured with brown head that lasted only for a minute or so…a few bubbles along the side, it’s too dark to see any real action in the middle…this beer is a very attractive, extremely dark brown…(3.5/5)

Smell:  Coffee and sweet cream from beginning to end…they blend nicely with a distinct malt base…very sweet and aromatic…(3.75/5)

Taste:  Coffee, malt and cream are the prevalent flavors…the higher alcohol content is noticeable…(4/5)

Mouthfeel:  Love the coffee and cream flavors…very nice from beginning to end, though I would have loved a bit more malt/hop and less alcohol…(3.75/5)

Overall:  This is a very drinkable beer…the lactose compliments the variety of hops and malts making a delicious blend…there is no head which would have been nice, but I definitely could drink a couple of these while watching the daily show…(3.75/5)

Score:

(3.80/5)
