Goose Island 312

Goose Island Beer Co.   Chicago, IL

Notes:
Urban Wheat Ale
22oz Bottle
4.2% ABV

Appearance:  Pours a hazy, classic straw color…some white head, about and inch thick did form…tons of bubbles in the middle and all along the glass…there is some sediment floating about…(3/5)

Smell:  Wheat, pale malts and the tiniest bit of citrus hops…pretty straight forward…(2.75/5)

Taste:  A fairly simple flavor going on here…there’s wheat, pale malts, faint lemon zest, a bit of hops bitterness and that’s about it…(2.75/5)

Mouthfeel:  Light, thin feel…a bit watery, but that’s to be expected…some carbonation creating a light bitterness…some lemon bitterness in the after taste…(2.75/5)

Overall:  Pretty much a straight forward wheat ale…doesn’t stray to far from the wheat and pale malt base, which is fine because it does have good flavor…it’s not typically my natural selection at the beer store, nor is this style of brew, but I can respect what’s happening here…a nice, light beer great for sitting on the porch debating why the Cubs suck…it’s most likely their pitching and/or their hitting…this beer will not let you down like mark prior, but don't expect a complete game shut out either…(3/5)

 Score:

(2.81/5)
